May / June 2017 Newsletter
Water Valley Community Association
There's always something happening in Water Valley!
Happy May! We are looking forward to warmer days, sprouting gardens and no more snow!!! (okay, well we still have May Long weekend to get through...;)
The Water Valley Community Association's Water Valley Hall 2017 project is well under way. Construction starts SUMMER of 2017!!! We've received a Grant from the Alberta Government for $300,000, so we now have $900,000 in the bank!!! A huge thank-you to Deirdre and Harold for all of their hard work on that accomplishment. However, we still need to raise $200,000 for completion of the project so if you would like to donate you can send an e-transfer by email to: email@example.com or pickup an envelope from the General Store. *all donations are tax deductible*
Bottle Drive Update ~ We raised $564 from last months' bottle drive in 1 day! Next one is coming up this Saturday, May 6th so please bring us all of your empties!!
Tourism Alberta had local Film Director Eppo Eerkes create a short video about Water Valley, which will be available for viewing on the Tourism Alberta's website soon. Thanks Eppo, for putting our little Hamlet on the map!
Canada's 150th Celebration all of the 1,000 tulips we planted are now popping up! When they bloom we are going to have a potluck for all the volunteers who helped to plant them. Also, if you happen to be driving by and see them blooming, stop and take pictures with as many people as possible in them and email to: firstname.lastname@example.org The pictures will be posted in the national site. Let's show the Nation that a small place like Water Valley has huge spirit!!
Road Clean-Up! The community is looking for some volunteers to help with cleaning up the roads round town. Same day as the bottle drive, this Saturday, May 6th, 2017. The more help there is, the less time it will take. Meet at the Hall for 9AM.
Water Valley Rodeo - coming June 3 & 4th at the Rodeo grounds west of Water Valley. We are calling for volunteers to man the gate for parking at the rodeo. Email to email@example.com if interested.

Water Valley Notes:
Hello Water Valley readers - I don't have a ton to say for this edition - most of it was said above. However, I would like to accept any submissions for a seasonal picture for the ilovewatervalley.comwebpage. I am very aware that there are some fantastic photographers in the area - professional to novice - anyone is welcome if they're willing to share. Feel free to share wildlife, scenery and pictures of people if you like (of course I'll make sure we have permission of any people).
I hope you’ll find it worthwhile to read and share information in the newsletter. If you have questions, comments or otherwise please forward to Melody @: email@example.com
Best of Wishes, and here's hoping for a speedy arrival of Spring!!! ~Melody
